when I first saw the term "GAS" I thought it meant something new and desirable had been seen and people were "going ape sh*t" over it. Amounts to the same thing I guess once I've got new car/important house stuff out of the way I'll be chasing a gk mb800 and a fEARful cab or two to go with it.
Too late... Sadowsky MV4 (Transparent White), arrived this past Tuesday. I won't receive anything from work if, and when, I do retire, so I treated myself...

Winter NAMM 2017 (ultra Pic-heavy)
Even after enjoying the NAMM thread all weekend, there doesn't seem to be anything that's a must have for me.
The Noble and one fiver is about all I need at the moment.

This year? Yes... I can't speak for 2018, which realistically starts late June 2017... so, I might see you in July...
... you know as well as I, you can rationalize GAS, from 0 to 60, in a heartbeat...
A Sire P/J 5. When they make one. I have wanted to give a P bass a go for a long time because I have never played one other than. In the store and for me that is almost useless... I also wanted a Sire M7 ... sit eh Side P/J5 would be the compromise since I really don't need another bass.. and certainly not two more. I just want one.

I would say a Sire lined fretless with a maple fretboard in white blonde or natural finish would be top of my list
It'd be nice if this were the year I pick up a Sadowsky, probably a Metro, but it depends on what I can sell first. I have pledged to employ a net neutral equipment program for 2017. $ for $, in and out.
Definitely a Bass IV of some sort. Could not decide yet between Squier Bass IV, Eastwood Sidejack Bass IV or build myself a Warmoth.
And another pedal to complete my pedalboard, probably a DI of some sort just in case my amp fails on a gig, maybe the Bass Flyrig as it has almost all effects I use.

I convinced my wife I need a chapman stick... So probably getting a gold rail board!
Besides that still looking for the dollar to come up a bit in order to get a Smith Black tiger, those things are a beast of a bass, specially since I love the mids.

I try to employ this as well but it doesn't seem to work out for me.
