I had the same situation happen to me. I got a MIM J bass and my teacher asked if I got different strings because he said those were not stock ones. Hmm. maybe Fender is starting to realize how good DA's sound.

does anyone know if TI Jazz flats would be good sounding on a MIM Fender Jazz bass? I have D'addario roundwounds on it right now, but wondered if I should try those for a change. I play a little slap but mostly finger.

I have D'addario roundwound strings that came on my fender J bass. they came on it and sound nice. It is naturally a bright bass and those work well for it. I am planning on buying more for it later.
