    Bass for acoustic rock?

If taking an upright isn't viable, I go to either my Rob Allen or P bass with flats, myself. If I'm practiced on fret less it's the Rob Allen, as "visually" it suits. If it's a last minute thing in a hurry, it's the P bass with flats. I've considered A Godin A5 very hard up until I got the Allen.

What do you say when service/fast food workers call you BOSS?

It takes a bit more than "BOSS" to upset me. I'm more worried about my food and service...

Band becoming LLC, paying members as contractors... Run, or okay?

Tax situation aside, as it seams like the carts before the horse. (You haven't even started making money.) The real question is, are you OK with this guy and his son "deciding" what your input is worth?

Used market dead as a door nail?

"End of an era" maybe? The age of buying something now just to "flip it" on down the road later might be coming to and end. Used is simply "used". With the term "vintage" not applying as broadly as it once was? I'm in the market right now for a 12 fret small body guitar. If I look at new with...

Where to buy a Traynor SB112

+1 on the Gollihur ! I got the SB 110 from them. I direct plug in my Kay, Yamaha EUB and various bass guitars. I'm not a "tone freak" by any means. But nobody has ever had a bad word to say about it !

    Goodbye G&L

Ahh... I'm not saying goodbye to my G&L. The first "nice bass" I bought was a 80's SB-1. It's the only 4 string I have anymore (except for UB). And to this day, I would have to say I've had more compliments from bandmates on the sound of that guitar than all my 5 strings put together. And I have...

    NAD: Musicmaster Bass Amp

I have one of those ! Bought it from a local shop 5-7 years ago. I have to admit that I've never plugged a bass in to it. But all my guitar playing buddies who use it when they are over, love it !

    Double Bass slb300 headphones amplifier

I wish I could help... I occasionally use a Fender Mustang Micro Plus. That subtle "hiss" I can hear through the amp, is right there upfront when using the headphone amp. Hopefully your SLB 300 will not produce "the hiss". The Mustang has been quiet with any other instrument I've plugged in to it.

Double Bass My Best Accessory for SLB300

I'm assuming it works better than the foam mute that came with my 300?

Double Bass Clip-on tuner recommendations for NS Upright electric basses

I have Snark tuners. And I have both TC tuners, (Unitune and Polytune) which I use for guitar. All were dodgy on bass guitar B strings and upright E strings. I bought the D'Addario Eclipse on a lazy Sunday Amazon surfing session. I couldn't be happier. It was so cheap and I had cc points to spare !

2 Basses Stolen out of Garage In Rancho Cucamonga (Used on Jennifer Lopez & Hanson Tours)

It's a great "gig" for the pawn shops... Buy basses cheap and hope original owner isn't vigilant! Worse case scenario is they are out a little time since they can't lose their initial investment. Man I wish the "tracks" worked like that ! Imagine laying a 100 bet on a race and then getting your...

Learning Muse's Hysteria - 1/16th notes and a new level of technical - Need some advice

JimmyM is spot on IMO, "raking" to cheat can cause some bad habits. It's ok if you are doing it consciously. I'm an old drummer that likes "rudiment practice". So I learnt this song as a way to get my old fingers in line and try and make my bass playing more precise. The one thing I remember...

    New Yamaha SLB 300 owner.

Thanks @ClusterFlux ! I'm still reading through all the threads to get some ideas. There's a couple guys that mentioned the problem years ago and are still using the bass. So I'm assuming there's ways to make it better.
