Thanks Captain Obvious....I was away from my house at the time of my post and wanted to see if this method to potentially resolve the problem was effective before I went home and started making adjustments to my bass that might not be necessary.

Did lowering the pickup solve the problem? I just changed my strings and had a luthier perform a setup, and I'm getting that same weird echo sound. It's driving me crazy...Thanks in advance.
