Yesterday I installed my first set of TI Jazz Flats and everything seemed to go smooth - I've performed my share of string change's without issue. However, this morning while tweaking the intonation, I noticed that the G string is giving off a strange kind of echo, for lack of a better word. It sounds much like a reverb effect, which seems to become more evident progressing up the frets.
The only thing I can think of is, since the TI strings are lower gauge than what was on there (I believe the stock strings) the thinner G seems to be nestled in the nut slot a bit tightly - but I kinda doubt that this is the answer (see attached pic).
It doesn't seem to feel abnormal when playing the string, but something is definitely amiss here. FWIW, the bass played and sounded fine with the strings I changed out. I'd be grateful to hear from anyone who's familiar with this problem or can suggest a possible cause and/or solution.
