Don't think that these were just straight 1 4 5 blues changes in low keys, I could have just tuned down for that.

The movie with the dog and his father is called "Virginia", from 1941. The scene he's in is in the first minute and a half of the movie.




Main claim to fame was writing this tune for Bobby Bland.

Tho he could, and did, play in the style of Lightning Hopkins, he was much more of a jazzy player and always interested in new sounds.

Just out of high school one my band's regular gigs was a biker bar in Wichita Falls called The Sink (should've been called The Toilet, but I digress...). Anyway, the bar owner said every time we played there I made it sound like a freight train was running through the joint, so he started calling me Freight Train. I thought it was perfect for a bass player (not to mention I weighed about 350 at the time, so...), but try as I might I couldn't get it to stick. Only one guitarist in one band since called me Freight Train. I finally got my revenge six months ago when I was filling out my forms for carpal tunnel syndrome test, and noticed "preferred name or nickname" in personal info. YOWSA! Now they LEGALLY gotta call me Freight Train, or I will sue they a**! It was thrilling the first time I heard a nurse call "Mr. Freight Train" in the waiting room.
