Forgot to mention, you will probably have to slightly reshape the corners of the pickup hole on the scratchplate as a SC sized rail pup is slightly squarer than a standard SC, a bit of sandpaer wrapped round a pencil will do it, its only a small amount needed to be removed....

Epiphone EB-0, the original Sidewinder was very microphonic despite being wax potted, no such issues with the Dimarzio, the position at the end of the neck is a bit of a compromise, but it is what it is.......I would like to try one in a sweet spot.......

I think the quality of instruments that are considered "cheap" are nowadays very good quality and with a decent setup, perhaps a pup change can rival much more expensive products....doesn't really matter whats on the headstock as long as you enjoy it...
