3D printed pickguard Cap for a G&L SB1

So far I have (2) G&L pickguards that cracked near the jack. I refuse to pay $40 for a new one, so I designed a Cap that will cover the control plate area. A friend of mine used a CAD program and printed it on a 3D printer. I think that it looks pretty good. In the photo I installed a white one, but we also printed out one with WOOD material that can be sanded and stained.

It looks really ugly. The original black guard looks better IMO. Maybe printing the cap black will make it look better.

I'm not allowed to express my opinion as per TB rules. I'm glad to hear you like it though, it is your bass after all.

That is a pretty bad place for an output jack. I had a Fender JP-90, and it was infamous for breaking in the same spot, and it only had a 2-ply pickguard.
If you had been using a right angle plug, you might not have broken it. That's how I kept from breaking the one on my JP-90.

Thanks for not sugar coating... I will take the advice and print a Black Cap. I will post a new photo when finished.
