    The Soundgear Club

This arrived today. USA Bartolini soap bars immediately installed. This single cut is absolutely pristine. There is not a mark on it. New strings and set up now and then a full test. And of course nice and light at 8 1/2 pounds. Golly. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one this clean.

What I am finding out with regards to playing as I grow older

I will never grow tired of women dancing in front of me as I play. I will enjoy that activity until I am dead. A schooled college guy I used to work with for a few decades told me one of his teachers at the new school in New York responded to the statement “this song sucks“. The teacher said...

how do i add new patches on a zoom b3

I used it regualarly on gigs for years as a swiss army knife. DI, amp sim, compression, and an effect. Its a great little multi. So much so I have 3 of em on the shelf to grab anytime.

    Fret Spot reviews Sire F10DX

I concur on the Sire fretless. Mine beat out over a dozen other makes/models in a 2 years search for mwaaah perfection. I put a John East J-tone in it, and its a spectacular instrument.

I played 55-94’s ,-02’s for a decade in the early 2000’s. I don’t remember those necks being particularly small either. But i’m old and memory can get fuzzy.

    Sire Bass Club!

Guyker BB101-DD The lightweight tuners on the 2026 V7 are a smaller diameter post than a typical 1/2 hipshot. Because of this holes are also smaller. The guyker drop tuning key is already smaller in diameter than the Hipshot so no mods are required to correctly fit the smaller holes in the...

    Sire Bass Club!

Put the Sadowsky style knobs and my Elixirs strung thru body for last nights gig. Bass handled the gig perfectly. Just had to manually tune down the E string for a few songs. Compatible down tuning key en route from china. Hipshot H6C not compatible without a visit to the drill press. Gonna...

    Fret Spot reviews Sire F10DX

I got this three days ago the 2026 V7 Vintage ash. The neck is very small, and the frets are vintage smaller too. Add the rolled adges and man-o-man, this neck is a peach. The pre provides all I require sonically…….reliability/longevity is yet to be determined.

    Fret Spot reviews Sire F10DX

I’ve never been crazy about the aesthetics of a single cut, but I’m about to receive my fourth Ibanez cerro. There is an aspect of these single cut neck through instruments that makes them superior, especially for five string. The additional contact with the body wings makes the neck like...

how do i add new patches on a zoom b3

Big b3 fan here. IIRC there are open spots in the J-1 to J-9 spots as well to program your own presets. I highly recommend the “Heaven” Eden amp sim, especially for a passive bass. Theres quite a few great tones in the B3. Enjoy it.

How do you go back after having something like this?

Many fingerboards can be made to be stunning with a good burnishing. I rarely ever ever see that being done on a fretted instrument. I wish manufacturers would take the time to do it. It provides a glassy surface without any chemical treatment.

Beatbuddy 2 (Is there a better option?)

you can get an used original beat buddy and that'll give you plenty of different grooves to jam with. for around $200. I have/use one and its perfectly adequate. the ZOOM B3 as well as some other multi effects also offer built in drum machines. But IME jamming with music minus one tracks...

    Sire Bass Club!

That's still to be determined. This is my 1st Sire pre, and it'll take a minute acclimate to. At first impression its kinda goofy. Treb/mid stacked??? Not bass/treb? bass control with active/passive bypass? not the volume control? vol/tone vs vol/pan? i don't know who was in charge of...

    "Moody" Ears?? Also, string changes...

I use Elixirs on all my basses, so my string tone is very consistent and long lasting. Normally never the reason the tone of a bass isn't happening. The one bass I have Infelds on sounds fine all the time too. I also do not use and amp or cabinet. IEM's exclusively live, or various amp cabs I...
