Need a recommendation for vintage-y P-Bass pickups that will actually fit in my bass!

i don’t know much about wiring, this is my first time doing this, but the wires are soldered on to the plate. My roommate who knows more about wiring said the plate was part of the magnet?

Need a recommendation for vintage-y P-Bass pickups that will actually fit in my bass!

I am building a Warmoth Jazzmaster bass with P-bass pickups. I bought a Seymour Duncan Antiquity II pickup, but the weird metal plate makes it so it won't fit in the pickup hole! I'm pretty bummed because I was looking forward to that sound. I am going back to the drawing board, but I am not...

    Obsidian Wire Solderless Harness

I’m completely new to this and was looking at an obsidian solder-less kit. If it doesn’t come with the ground, what do you do if there’s no previous ground wire? Do I need to buy that separately? I’m building a Warmoth from scratch.

What are the noticeable differences between single-coil and standard P-bass pickups?

Thanks. Is it similar to single coil vs humbucker in something like a fender strat guitar, or am I way off? I would assume more hum with a single coil if so.

What are the noticeable differences between single-coil and standard P-bass pickups?

That is why I am asking. I wouldn't choose looks over sound, but if they sound the same, why wouldn't I choose the one I think looks better? Doesn't seem that hard to wrap one's head around.

What are the noticeable differences between single-coil and standard P-bass pickups?

Thanks, that is really helpful. I think it makes sense. I hadn't seen the Redbone bass discussions, that is fascinating.

What are the noticeable differences between single-coil and standard P-bass pickups?

I am building a Warmoth bass and I am wondering what are the big differences (if any) between a single-coil 51/54 style P-Bass pickup, like the style of pickup in the Sting bass vs a standard P-Bass pickup. I play more rock stuff with a little bit of distortion. I just kinda like how the single...

Does my dream bass exist - a P bass with Jazz neck?

bummer!!! Do they make thin tele bass necks? I really don’t like the baseball bat neck in the Mike Dirnt, but I love the body and 50s pickguard

First timer questions about fitting a Jazz bass neck in a Mike Dirnt P bass body

Thanks, that is helpful. I am not sure where to get information to confirm which necks fit, BUT say it does fit. I should still budget money for someone to do fret work, string work, and potentially drill holes. Understood.

Does my dream bass exist - a P bass with Jazz neck?

My newest plan is to do a Mike Dirnt body with a modern C jazz neck, but I'm having trouble finding the neck pocket size. Does anyone know if it will fit?

First timer questions about fitting a Jazz bass neck in a Mike Dirnt P bass body

This is a follow up to a thread that was helpful before: roasted Vintera neck I think I decided I want to buy a [This invalid link has been removed] and fit a modern C jazz neck into it. I have never done anything like this, so I was hoping for some advice. According to many in the linked...

The Hoppus bass is SO close. You're right, it has a P neck

Does my dream bass exist - a P bass with Jazz neck?

I'm thinking about doing a Warmoth build, but I want to check if something like this exists already. I'm a die-hard Fender Jazz bass fan, but I want a second bass with that vintage Fender P-Bass sound. I hate P bass necks and don't love how they look, so I was going to make a Jazzmaster bass...
