I’ve owned both... get the Mesa, great amps and great customer service. You might want to consider the Mesa D-800 new, it’s an incredible amp.

The $1,600 I spent on the amp one 4-5 years ago has more than paid for itself in terms of massive sound without back injuries.

I've owned a lot of small combo amps over the years but nothing comes close to the sound of the AER Amp One. It's very pricey, but has a huge amount of bass and volume for a 29 LB rig. The tonality is warm and clean but not brittle like so many solid state amps.

Yes, there is no tweeter but the 8's have a very nice, quick transient high end, especially in an infinite baffle cab. I do have the DNA which does have a tweeter, but I've tried the 4x8 alone and there is no lack of high end at all. I may not be the right guy to judge this but I'm not a big...
