Bass inspired name for a dog.

We had a dog named Geezer, for Geezer Butler. We also had a dog named Uecker, for Bob; the voice of the Brewers.

Opinion, who makes the best bass neck?

Carvin LB-40 4 string with Hipshot drop D But bear in mind, I am a drummer 1st and bass player 2nd.

Is it hard to learn bass guitar?

It is much harder than cutting the grass but way easier than learning dentistry. I hope this helps. :)

Which phrase annoys you the most?

I don't like the term "Kick Drum". It is a bass drum and we don't kick them. "Rack Tom" bugs me and I don't care for the term "Robust" , in regards to mounting a robust defense, response...

Why do YOU "only" play a 4 ?

I like a 4 and have the Hipshot drop D. Works very well.

Two members of the band Tower of Power hit by train

I heard that the drummer Dave received a minor facial bone fracture and The sub bass player Marc suffered 4 broken ribs. The drummer is already out of the hospital and both are supposed to make a full recovery. Good news when you consider a train/pedestrian accident.

    Tolex Glue

Any recommendations on a good, easy to use glue to put new tolex on a pair of Carvin BX 600 heads. I have the old Tolex and rat fur removed and the wood is sanded nice and smooth. Thanks Swivomatically

Sandbar Resistor On the Loose in a Carvin BX600

Is it possible to over-do it with the compound? I take it that this is a thermal conductor but an electrical insulator (or at least a non-conductor).

    Faulty Carvin BX700

I just bought our son a new BX-700 for Christmas. He set it up with the free foots-witch, plugged everything in, turned it on, and nothing; no sound. He calls me up and we troubleshoot over the phone. Turns out, the foot-switch had the amp set to sound off. One click of the switch and he was...

Sandbar Resistor On the Loose in a Carvin BX600

Update: We could not find anyone willing to tackle the soldering job. The Northwoods of Wisconsin is loaded with chickens (soldering iron cowards). My wife and I chose to tackle it ourselves. There were 8 screws with pipe-dope-type goop holding the circuit board to the heat-sink. We took...

    Tolex Removal and Glue

Hi I am looking to remove old black tolex from a Carvin bass head and carpet-type covering from another. I'd like to replace both heads (BX600)'s with new blue Tolex covering. What glue is recommended and how would you recommend I remove the old coverings. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Sandbar Resistor On the Loose in a Carvin BX600

Are there supposed to be 2 of them, as I only see the one 5 watt/5 ohm J. Or are there 2 in the Bx1200, which is a dual monoblock and just the one in the Bx600. I am not very good with schematics. My wheatstone bridge is a bridge to nowhere. :smug:

Sandbar Resistor On the Loose in a Carvin BX600

I was able to talk to a Carvin tech today. The sandbar is supposed to exist in the amp; in series with/at relay 186 (whatever that means. My wife thinks she knows where it goes. I purchased another identical Carvin amp off of eBay for $207 shipped. I will open it up and see where it goes...
