thanx for the replies. i had tried lowering the pickup on the low end rather than raising it on the high end just so the pickup wouldnt get in the way of my fingers. i will try the opposite to see if it helps if not then i will look into a replacement pickup.

a safe bet would be to never listen to a guitarist.

so i play a single humbucker musicman stingray 4 string and i am in love with this bass. Few problems though, first off when i play out with it, my D and G strings don't register as clearly as the lower strings. i knew that was a problem with the stingray but im just not sure how to correct it...
