So far, I have followed that dictum by finding, first, a fretless 4-string, #141, on eBay at a very nice price and, as of this week, taking delivery of kbuschman's #249 advertised on TB's basses for sale forum. I fear I may be ordering a new Clement once I have a clearer sense of what I capable...

I have a Ryan (#141) that fits very roomily into a Gator hardcase. I can give you the internal measurements if that would help.
