Club Clement (Part 6: Post your basses here)

Otherwise, I'm sure that the cases Tom has available will be perfectly suitable. I'd probably get one of those anyway, since It would be nice to have a lighter, yet still protective Gig bag for times where I just don't want to lug the hard case around.

I absolutely cannot wait to start building this bass I have in my head, but it will have to wait. :atoz:

I found a case at Samash that fits mike very well. I did add some foam to keep it in its place though. It's not the nicest hard case but isnt bad and does what it needs to do.

#306 is coming with one of the cases Tom is now providing so I guess I'll have one hard and one soft..

So far, I have followed that dictum by finding, first, a fretless 4-string, #141, on eBay at a very nice price and, as of this week, taking delivery of kbuschman's #249 advertised on TB's basses for sale forum. I fear I may be ordering a new Clement once I have a clearer sense of what I capable and/or looking to emote with a custom bass.

Smart. Once you figure out precisely (or close to it) what you want Tom can make it happen.

I have been through too many basses, I love Jazz basses mainly the way they sound and the feel of the neck but never had one that ergonomically fit me. The Mike is it for me and I can spec it to be a jazz bass but better ergonomically. #296 sounds like a great jazz bass, really great as a matter of fact. Plus it balances and feels perfect to me. Which is why I turned around and ordered #306.

My next one will likely be a fretless 5ver. :help::hiding:

OK,
so I said "Hey, there are some tape wound strings on the "mule"... moved the BEAD and down tuned them to low F# B E A and it actually works quite well. Tension is low but very upright sounding and feel. Had to raise the saddles to lessen the crazy finger board buzz, of course. I think I will get me a 6 string set and add another B for F# on #256.

PS: the "mule" is a dissected Squier defretted 5er that I use for my experiments, trying out strings, pups, etc. It has a rather large hole where I can position pups up and down the body... fun
