Help with Fender rumble 25 problem

I had the same issue with a Rumble a few years back. What solved it for me was to remove the speaker and caulk the wood joints all around the inside of the cabinet. It seemed that the air being pushed by the speaker cone was leaking through a gap somewhere in the cabinet joints. I couldn't...

Opinions: Did the Bar "Disrespect" My Band?

I've played a couple of those types of gigs in the past. I looked at it as a gift from the sports gods: I got paid to watch a basketball game and drink beer. How many times in your life will that happen? I also agree that the bar owner probably did not need your band to play that night, due...

    Need Advice

Put this in the "adding insult to injury category"... Received this email from singer the same day she cancelled our Feb gig. "We are really boxing ourselves into corners here with very few dates open in Feb & March. Makes T's [booking agent] job harder & in turn, my job much tougher in...

    Need Advice

I'm trying hard to see this from the lead singer's perspective but I keep coming up with "stick to our committment". I just can't imagine our booking agent being okay with this. We've turned down offers for 3 gigs in the past month due to scheduling conflicts. This has to be black mark...

    Need Advice

I'm going to try and be objective about this situation. Would like your opinion on how to handle. My band booked a gig a month and a half in advance with a venue here locally. Yesterday, lead singer states she wants to attend a concert held on the same day of our gig with some out-of-town...

    Playing note for note.

I typically start learning a new song note for note. Then after I've learned it, I see if there is anything I can add that would make the song more interesting or distinctive. I usually learn the rules first, then decide when and how to break them. Also, when improvising, I'm playing what I...

Critique My Playing - Rolling in the Deep [Audio Included]

I would echo some of didgeribass' comments: 1) timing was off in parts of the song - nothing that more practice won't correct. 2) the chord progression you played in the 1st verse was not correct. I believe the root notes in the back half of the verses are: |Ab|Bb|G|Ab| |Ab|Bb|G|G| 3)...

    Do your bandmates practice material?

I'm in a cover/original band. Learned about 45 covers and 2 originals in 3 months time (the band is a hobby for me - I have a full time job, wife, and kids). 2weeks ago we decided to learn 3 new covers and for me to pick up another original. Last week I came to practice with all my bass parts...

    Hi-hat side of the drummer

I used to be a real stickler for playing on the hi-hat side, but a couple years back, I had to play on the ride side. Nowadays, it doesn't really matter. The only thing I dislike is being too close to the cymbals on a small stage.

Walking Bass Lesson - How to walk around '2 chords per bar' - with Scott Devine

Scott, I enjoyed your tutorials. I've seen at least 5 of them over the past month or so, and I like the way you break the concepts down into easily understandable pieces. Keep up the good work. I'll be making a donation to support your ongoing efforts in supplying quality bass tutorials...
