I think the MII weren't that great, I remember my godson had one Made In Indonesia, the Crafted in Indonesia seem to get with the value priced with great quality...My VM is CII.
Actually played the '77 VM today, really nice, good quality, and decent price point too. I would love to swap the neck w/my VM.
edit for being on topic: I would like to see 70's pup spacing, I don't think the VM has the 70's JB pup spacing.
Yes it does sound good after the 12th. If you care about the name on the headstock, I'd go with the Fender. My VM sounds more Jazz than my '99 MIM. but it has 8 yrs of progress, and the new MIM are way better than my '99.
