I always found the bridge pickup to be the thing that makes the jazz bass desirable,at least for me,since the neck pickup is weaker than the precision's. I'd go with the p deluxe since it has the best of both worlds,the jazz's bridge pup growl and the p's big bottom end, unless you really need...

Forgot to say that the rickenbacker copy is 750 dollars.

I have a friend in my local music shop who plays bass and he offered me a Japanese copy of a Rick. He told me something about Rick constructing in Japan for a while or something and they copied the same exact specs and of design of the 4000 series and they are going to make a shipment soon...
