Getting a 79 Precision, keep old vol/tone pots and cap or change new kits?

I thought new kits with quality cap would make it sound clear and better , sure I will keep the old sets as original value. but if it does nothing, I just stay original.

Getting a 79 Precision, keep old vol/tone pots and cap or change new kits?

just simply ask if you guys will keep using old vol/tone pots and cap or change it to a new CTS pots and something like phonebook cap for a used precision? I will be ready to take it for recording, should I ensure everything in clarity with new kits while old set still works?

    Best Flatwound Strings?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6R2LOXMqyg8 This comparison video gives a very good idea, I personally prefer the Rotosound for tighter and aggressive music, sounds so great while doing palm mute. Laballa gives very warm fat sound! love them both

Fender Precision - around $2k bugbet, CS Used or Vintage 70-80?

is 9.7lbs acceptable? it seems that lightweight is below 9lbs. but it's difficult finding one rosewood, lightweight and at its reasonable price. so, I probably get that one if it's not too heavy. thanks you guys alot of helps!

Fender Precision - around $2k bugbet, CS Used or Vintage 70-80?

I'm also searching some used CS around $2k, but got not many choices on the net and my local stores got nothing, just new and pricy :rollno: so, do you mean weight over 9lbs is heavy? I would get a light weight as well as I like using light weight strat/tele.

Fender Precision - around $2k bugbet, CS Used or Vintage 70-80?

This one seems to be a good deal, but it has a light color rosewood fingerboard, does it change the sound and not as good as the darker rosewood? I'll try some amercian vintage in my local as a lot of you guys recommended!

making one myself is also a good choice in the price, however it will take more times to build and experience on it. I've never tried it and I need the bass as soon as possible for some tracks.
