    Today I won.

Please do share, if you feel so inclined. :) I make a living from what I get, but I make a life from what what I give. And if this is a gift, I'd like to keep on giving.

    Today I won.

Bard2dbone, I must say I'm a little jealous. I never got to face my bullies, only find a way to hide and slip under the radar. Not that I'm bitter, but I'd love to see their reaction to the soft squishy kid they picked on lay down one hell of a technical beating. :smug:

    Today I won.

Kali comes most natural to me, but I really like JKD and Cera Silat as well. Muay Thai and boxing are fun because of the mental game behind them, they feel sportier. I suppose I like a lot of them too much to have a favorite! :D Thank you for the support everyone. I owe a lot of you for...

    Today I won.

Today I won. Today is the end of the longest battle of my entire life. Roughly 20 years ago, I was born. I was born 15 weeks (3 months) premature, and had a stroke at day 2. The stroke damaged, among other things, the germinal matrix; the part of the brain directly responsible for fine and...

    Do you suffer from B.P.F?

No playing face, just slack jawed and occasionally drooling on myself.

What's your favorite bass tuning to play in?

Half step down from B standard on a five string. The loosened tension does wonders for getting a good clanking grinding sound.

    Portrait of Tracy technique

My EQ is a bit of a frown, so the mids are already taken care of. Thanks for the tips, I usually play between the pickups, I've never been a bridge kind of guy just because the tension is too high for the sound I usually want to come through. But, seeing as this is something totally...

    Portrait of Tracy technique

The title says it all. I've been trying to learn this masterpiece of a song, but my main issue is getting the harmonics to sound clearly and evenly. I can play the 4th, 5th, 7th and such easily, but the ones between frets like between the 3rd and 4th are not only difficult to find, but very...

Advice on selling a head and cab

Thanks for the replies! They're a matching pair, a Genz Benz ShuttleMAX 6.0 with an XB3 4x10 cab. I'd like to get at least 1K for them, so speed of sale isn't exactly a concern.

Advice on selling a head and cab

Hey all, I am assuming many of you have bought and sold cabinets and heads used, and was curious about something. Is it easier to sell the two together, or split them up? And if you have split them up before, did it take much time/price lowering to sell the other? I'm going to be...

    Pricing a used bass?

I have a Spector ReBop 5 i'd like to sell, but I have no idea where to begin with pricing it, or any bass for that matter. It has some slight dinging and denting, but plays like an absolute dream still. Thanks for any and all help guys, cheers.

    My tapping sounds like poop!

On the flip side, you can really strike when you tap to even it out that way as well. I find that striking hard is good for a solid, clear note, but I personally get fatigued rather quickly doing so. Explains why I don't tap much.

Plucking with index and ring fingers

This is something I find very helpful. There's an interview floating around also, where Billy Sheehan mentions that little factoid, and how it helps him out. Try both, and do what you find most comfortable.

    Right Hand Technique

You don't seem to be resting your forearm on the body of your bass, which is a real no-no in terms of keeping nice and uninjured. If it works, go for it!
