I must say, that I am wonderfully surprised and impressed with the new Spector ICON NS-2. I was fully expecting to have to gut the electronics as I'm typically not a. Aggie guy....however...the reverse P/J and OBP2 just work in the case. Cut through the mix without sounding thin. Carries girth...

I received it this way. Was told that the Piezo failed and as a result, the preamp was also replaced (with a wonderful sounding Demeter preamp).

Ace hardware is a great spot for finding odd screws. They tend to have a far greater selection vs other hardware stores.

It's a great bass. Plays well, sounds good. I'll likely swap the electronics to step up the electronics to the next level. My only real "complaint" is the neck. It's a bit "P-ish" shaped (I prefer a J neck profile). Aside from that and the electronics, it's pretty nice. It's not that the...

Mine doesn't seem to suffer from the low G string output, however and ironically, my pickup was adjusted from the factory the high side of the pickup (D&G) significantly higher than the low side (E&A). Perhaps that was intentional...but will never know...

IMHO, best sounding Stingray I've owned (have owned at least a dozen). I never loved the MM preamp. Now, hearing the pickup passive and uncolored, it sounds phenomenal!

Even though mine is 10 lbs, keeping her. Neck is dead-straight and the frets are so level that you'd think it was Pleked. If I exchanged it for another, chances are I wouldn't get one with this nice of a neck and fretwork.
