This may be a stupid question but could you use a speaker intended to be used in a car stereo system as a speaker for a bass cab? Only information I could get from the speakers themselves is they are pioneers, 10 inch in diameter, 500w max and 4 ohms. If that makes any difference.

One of my 5 strings are tuned ACGCF if I'm not mistaken (my band covers a few of the faceless songs) so you can do that if you truly want to.

rickett thats exactly the same bass or well looks like it minus the tremolo. great pictures and did you just use glue to fill in the gaps? and in the J it looks like you put a dowel rod or something correct?

Should the wood be some sort of tone wood or does it really matter? Since most of it will be routed out anyway due to the Barts being wider then the jazz style/total different shape then the P style. And for the filler just regular elmer's? I have loads of that stuff lying around.

Not sure if I worded it right but does anybody have experience with filling in the void where a pickup used to be? Should I use wood filler? or maybe epoxy + microbubbles? I have an old, what looks like mid 90s, Ibanez bass body. I think it's a sr400 if it makes a difference. It's routed...
