Wanted to see how flat wounds sound on my EBMM Stingray Special 5H. So, I put a set of Ernie Ball 2810 5 String Flatwounds, and I'm digging this bass even more now. I put the vid below so I could hear a comparison difference. The 3:15 mark has the quick comparison to hear the change better.

So finally got some free time to check why I wasn't getting any signal from my 5H. Apparently battery 2 wasn't seating well enough, which is probably due to breaking the plastic retainer to keep pressure on the battery terminals... But I found a quick fix by putting a foam ear plug on the back...

But yeah the battery compartment on the Stingray Specials kinda suck. They seem really fragile (broke the tab on one of the compartments) and might be "fun" to make sure they seat correctly.

Nice yeah my 5H is a little on the heavier side being 9.5 to 9.8 but with tone this good I can find a better strap to use. Haha. I've actually been debating looking at getting one of the 4.5" Levi straps, but having pulled the trigger yet.

Thanks everyone. I’m definitely going to be using this one in videos going forward. Really digging the sounds you can get out of it and the playability is great. Also the setup is so much easier than my ‘78 p bass… lol

Thanks Dr. Cheese. Totally agree with you on the teal. That's what really made the decision to get this one. I've been hunting for one for months and this one came up, so I had to grab it. Apparently they don't do this color anymore as standard... it's a crime I tell ya.
