Sorry to hear about the static sounds! I could try it in a commercial setting, however a friend of mine is building a new construction home and just passed his electric inspection. I'm gonna check it out there.

I did try another home. Noise was identical.

I am not entirely sure about the state of the ground wire. Yes it “is” grounded, but perhaps incorrectly or maybe something has gone wrong with grounding over time. that being said, by trying my amp with a 2-prong adapter and removing the ground connection, wouldn’t that make the noise go away...

I know that the plug is okay. I tried a few.

No it’s a normal outlet. I’ve tried plugging it into most circuits in the house, including cutting off every other circuit in the house. Today I tried it in a different house all together. Same headphone and speaker buzz. Didn’t try the DI or anything with a microphone there but that headphone...

I appreciate everyone’s sound input!! I really feel like the headphone jack closes the case on it being the amp, unless there is still any potential issue with the power, but I can say for certain that nothing changes by using a 3-prong to 2-prong adapter, presumably ruling out a grounding issue...

Just edited my last post. Added the fact that the headphone jack makes the exact same noise so it has nothing to do with the microphones or cables. My headphones sound clean on every other source all on the same outlet.

Turn ms out there’s no Ampeg authorized service people within hours of me. Unfortunately I can’t afford to ship it so I guess I’m just stuck with a lemon and we’ll have learned nothing from my experience :(
