Sorry, YOURS is not a Phantom, it's a Vox brand, Phantom model. Mine is a Phantom brand....god knows what the model is.

    what brand is this bass

Lazarus Thread! This was my first bass, a Phantom. My friends were starting a garage band in 1974, they had the bass but no bass player so they talked me into it. The sound on mine was not good so I went to used EBO which was not much better. I still have the Phantom, albeit with all the guts...

New Fender Deluxe PJ Bass, sharp frets....

I'm the OP, wanted to make it known that after humidifying in the case for a week the frets were fine and did not need to be filed.

New Fender Deluxe PJ Bass, sharp frets....

It's a new Seafoam Green Fender Deluxe PJ Bass, the only frets that are sharp are the G side, down by the cutout, 14ths fret down. I'm think it needs humidity but wouldn't drying out affect all the frets, not just the low ones and on one side? No I'm thinking maybe poor finishing at the...

Replacement speaker for an old Acoustic 136 cabinet?

As I stated, the picture in the OP was a stock photo not the actual one I own. Here are actual pictures of my cabinet.

Replacement speaker for an old Acoustic 136 cabinet?

OK, the interior of the speaker compartment measures 25L x 21.5H x 8 D = 4300 cubic inches = 70.46 liters (nice estimate ThisBass!) It has two ports at the bottom, each measures 5 x 1.75 = 8.75 x 2 = 17 sq. inches. The cabinet still has the original fiberglass insulation in there. Enough info...

Replacement speaker for an old Acoustic 136 cabinet?

OK, the last 5 posts have me in deeper than I want to be right now but thanks to all. Will probably go with the Eminence Delta 15a as suggested. Unless, (can of worms) since 8 ohms is now in the game, are there any other manufacturers I should consider?

Replacement speaker for an old Acoustic 136 cabinet?

As I said, I am a neophyte here, I got that info from this forum, read the second post down...I'm sure I interpreted it incorrectly. Acoustic 140

Replacement speaker for an old Acoustic 136 cabinet?

The Beta 15a is 8Ω, I need a 4Ω. It's between the Delta 15LF-4 on the left and the CA154 on the right, both about $90, which is the better fit to the amp?

Replacement speaker for an old Acoustic 136 cabinet?

The Eminence Delta 15a sounds like it would be a winner but unfortunately it only comes in 8Ω and I need 4Ω. The 15b is 16Ω, in fact the only 15" 4Ω Eminence are the CA154 and the Delta 15LF-4 (see below) Specification Nominal Basket Diameter 15", 381 mm Nominal Impedance* 4 Ω Power Rating*...

Replacement speaker for an old Acoustic 136 cabinet?

Actually I have an Acoustic 140 head (the 140 was rated at 125 watts @ 4 ohms) with an empty 136 cabinet, which was a combo using the same amp as the 140 and a 15" speaker. Picture of a complete one below, mine is just the cabinet and a separate head, same specs. I may even put the amp in the...

    Value case for PJ bass

Obligatory shot, as you can see, tucked away in a nook. My first good bass, (I had a beat up EBO in the mid 1970's, I took it apart to refinish it and it's still in pieces) trying to get back in the groove...

    Value case for PJ bass

Just got a PJ bass, the surf green model for Musicians friend. It has a Precision body. I would like to keep it cased around the house, I will not be traveling except maybe in the back of my car. What's the best value in a case, I see Fender branded Pro Series can be had for around $100-120 on...
