What is the SN of your '83? I have BE100041 that looks identical.

I have earliest 1983, SN BE1000041, Black w/pickguard, but Chrome bridge & Maple fingerboard.

I have a pr. of Eden EX210N 8 ohm cabs, 20 lbs. each, and each cab rated at 500 watts RMS. I also have a couple of Eden EN115 8 ohm cabs with castors, and each one weighs about 40 lbs.

I always carry an extra set of strings, but always play standard 4-hour shows with breaks. In your case where you are playing only 30 minutes- you don't have the time to spare to change out a broken string, so maybe a backup bass is not a bad idea. Also, you might want to think about a back-up...
