Good point on that nut width and radius! I have a Squier Paranormal and already sanded the goo off the back of the neck and that alone makes it feel better to me.

The Soundgear necks are the most comfortable that I've ever played and I have quite a few different basses in my collection. However, I don't like anything else about the bass. Just curious if anyone knows of a more traditional body style like a P or J bass with a neck similar to the SDGR...

At what point are they no longer the value leader? At $120, it's clear. Yes, it's a great deal. No one is buying these basses for any other reason in my opinion. If you are OK with the $30 increase on the Ursa 4, and there's nothing different in materials over the Ursa 2, then you'll be fine...

I like that color. There's no way that I'm going to buy one though after buying an Ursa 2 at $120 just a few weeks ago. Cutting the wood in a different shape doesn't justify a price increase IMO. If these were $120, I'd probably go for one because at some point I want something with a maple neck.

I agree. I think most are simply used to the Fender styling and can't get over seeing something completely different. On it's own, I can't say that the Ursa headstock is ugly. It's simply very different from what we're all used to seeing at the end of a P or J.

Thanks for sharing that info blakelock. I practiced a few exercises last night and noticed some improvements! I guess my number in "old dog / new tricks years" is 57. :) However, with additional basses on the way (would like a short scale and a P), that number could increase rapidly!

Being in the US, we'll likely experience something similar in a few more years... :mad: Seems like the stuff that tastes bad is a good suggestion. I pick at mine a bit from time to time, but fortunately not to the point to where it causes a problem.

I've searched around a bit but didn't find much that directly compares the SX short scale with the regular scales. Does anyone have both (J style) that can share a few thoughts about the short scale? I'm tempted to get one. :)
