This a 1000 times! My favorite "combo" so far, with a PA, I use it for everything!

I would think you could get a great sound with your current setup just playing around with the gain and the eq as long as your not trying to crank it all the time. I have not owned a Mesa rig but they seem to do clean really well when I played them at a few music stores over the years.

As far as a head goes, I would try an Orange Terror Bass. Mine does the punk/thrash thing very well and weighs almost nothing.

Different... the Bassman 50 (69-70ish) has the original giant 2x15" cab while the 100T has a NEO 4x10" cab.
