i want this bass all i have is a 2001 Musicman Stingray all original......

So saturday nite played my 3rd gig with this head everything was fine......last nite i plugged it into an ampeg svt810....and as soon as i turned it on it started humming like an airplane was landing or something......so i figured maybe its the cabinet to head problem.....i grabbed my traynor...

im just toying around with ideas...im gonna save my cash for some cool handmade effects pedal since i already have the DI on the back

I have a Traynor dyna 800h Bass head with a DI out on the rear of the head.... would buying a DI box/pedal be overkill and un- needed?? Ive never used my own DI box....I just want more tonal control over the sound that feeds through the PA..... If a DI box is a good idea any...

Anyone have any suggestions for the traynor 800H ( http://www.traynoramps.com/products.asp?type=5&cat=40&id=390 ) for a nice low end smooth rock sound??? similar to Social Distortion....or check out my band and think of what settings would sound nice I just got this head and have been toying...

thank you.......i mean i was young and dumb when i bought all my gear....and just got back into a band in march....now im really aiming to toy around with my sound and experiment and try to find smooth rolling bass sounds and then add some effects pedals and such.....I just got a traynor Amp...

yeah mine has 4 knobs...... 1 being the volume the others being i actually dont know what each of the other knobs are im bad with this stuff i just play with the all turned all the way up clockwise.....

which brand strings do you recommend??? I have Vinci String endorsement......but havent had the money to buy in bulk yet......

yeah the more i read about the pickups and such i think im going to not do anything to it and maybe get a Rickenbacker or Fender P bass

ive had mine since 1999 i used to love the sound.....and i love the bass...but im also pretty interested in the 1957 Reissue soun d of the p bass....i just like the more low end sound......maybe im just EQ-ing mine all wrong.....

I was wondering if i swapped out the original Musicman Stingray pickup for a Seymour Duncan SMB4D what I would gain and what I would lose.....any recommendations would also be great.... Maybe just doing the pre-amp section instead?? I dont know never hot rodded any basses before..... thanks...
