If you don't mind me asking... What made you dump the Affirmas? And what is drawing you back to another reissue? I'm still considering taking the leap and picking one up so your perspective is appreciated.

Thinking about grabbing an Affirma and found your review. Just want to say "Thanks" for the detailed exploration of the electronics. It's always risky buying an instrument online without being able to play it. Hearing the various pickup configurations in your video review was priceless.

Found this old thread and just wanted to say thanks to everyone for the great string suggestions. Someone gave me a free acoustic bass with some neck bow and a lifting bridge. Once I do a little work to get it back into shape I'm going to throw some low tension strings on it so it doesn't blow...
