I have a lovely (heavy) 2008 Stingray. It's a lovely and powerful bass. But I wonder if I could get a better sounding preamp for it. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks very much!

Yes I did that. Same result - low volume and a ratty tone!

Yes, I think you're right - too many of the quiet practices and small gigs got too loud and I wrecked it. The cone moves smoothly but the sound seems to be poor.

I should mention that I've always used either my Genz Benz Streamliner 600 or a Genzler Magellan 800 as power.

The distance from nut to bridge saddle is actually around 31".

The fingerboard is lacquered like a Rick and that symbol has been lightly etched into that finish. Looks like the previous owner did it.

The electronics are completely un altered and functional. Truss rod works fine too. So, I don't think it's been modded or changed at all.
