there is a wire that appears to run to bridge too

Thanks, I now believe the loose wire is the one that connects to the battery,however, of the black wires that run from the input across the pots there is a short black wire going nowhere. IPlease excuse my non technicalness! Im even struggling to upload a photo!

its almost the same, but has a black wire running from the input, across the top of the pots, is that normal?

My Fender Jag bass has begun creating a lot of noise when im not touching the strings, so i thought id have a nose under the input plate. While doing this, a wire has come off and i cant tell where from! Ive seen the wiring diagram posted above but it looks different to what i have here! Urgent...
