Struggling to decide on new Bass for alt rock/dream pop; Sire Z series, M series, Cort B5...

The neck is really good for me on the 5 string model for sure; I liked the feel of the 4 string but it felt "off" somehow, and this fixes it for sure - plus it's a fantastic 5 string. Great for both funk and metal, the two genres you'd have to use it in, also lofi trip hop type stuff, which...

I am very pleased with it! Wish it had a passive tone control, though, if only as a trim internally. the Z7 tone controls are a bit too intimidating for me. I figured I can always swap out the preamp anyway. Will probably be better when the new strings settle in. Anyone try it with Flats?

I decided on the Z3 in the end. I would have liked a Z7, but the extra cost and lack of Rose Gold kinda sealed it for me.

Any idea what's going on with the Z Series?

Sterling stuff is more expensive here unfortunately. The one I have my eyes on is second hand, for 600, cheaper than a Z7-5 but more than a Z3-5. I like the "vibe" of the Z3 most as it's grown on me, particularly the Rose Gold one. I'm open to other bass suggestions, though. I love Stingray...

I would jump on an ATK if I saw one for sure

I actually might be able to pick up a Ray34, would you recommend that? I guess I want a more "premium" instrument, but I'm worried the Z3/Z7 with the rolled edges migth FEEL more premium. I love the neck on my Sire S7.

It seems to be out of stock everywhere still, and the estimated arrivals on Thomann et. all seem to keep moving forward. I was told May in a local shop, but it seems like it might be even longer. I wanted a 5 string Z3 or Z7, and haven't been able to find any here.

    Sire Bass Club!

Is there any hope for a Z3 or Z7 5 string anywhere here in Europe? They had one in Bax but i missed it and I'm really upset about it. I could pick up the 4 but I really want a 5 string bass :(

Cici found the same in the Andertons demo. Probably just materials - Mahogany always strikes me as a heavier wood than Alder.

Here in Ireland atm there's a limited range of basses available to me for the most part, so I'm probably going to end up having to order blind sooner or later. Guitarist in my band is gonna be leaving in the summer, so there's a narrow window for me to get to use it with that band(we play mostly...

Reccommend a short scale bass without a bridge pickup!

This is what a Mustang is for honestly. The CV Pickup isn't the greatest but it's not bad and the only downside to the bass. Neck feels very nice when I had a go, more or less the same as the others in the shop.

    Short Scale 5 for travel

Mikro 5 or if you can spare a little more space, I would go for the Mezzo 32" basses. Talmans have big bodies so I wouldn't recommend them

    Sire M5 Review

Curious about the people trying to Squeeze MM tones out of these. A humbucker in parallel near the bridge will get some of the way there, but it needs to be a little further forward(tiny bit of neck blend might help?), series could work too to make it sound rounder and "neckier". Are the M2...
