Plays pretty good, though the rounded neck feels a bit weird, that'll take a while to get used to. Haven't plugged it in to my amp yet, so will need to wait and see what it properly sounds like.

Well, it's worked! Managed to write a riff last night. Yep, it's basic, but that's the point I suppose. Time to evolve it! One more question though, with regards to writing music, how much does 'knowing about music theory' actually help? I'm not very familiar with a lot of the terminology...

Cheers for the recommendations, I'll definitely have a look for some of them. Ideally I'd like to find a bass with any of the mentioned strings already set up on it, and then try it out from there. Though, I doubt I'll be able to find one, so I'll just buy and try then.
