I play mostly 34" scale 4 string, but I do have an Ibanez Mezzo 32" scale 5 string and the B string tension is good and sounds good. I have a set of D'Addario XL round wound 45 65 85 105 130 's on it.

I just received my red mahogany V3 5er this week. Setup and finish is perfect. It looks great. It was just plug and play.

Over the years I have bought and sold many basses ranging in price from a $125 SX jazz bass to a $800 Fender American P bass, 4 string, 5 string, freted and fretless. They all played well and sounded good.

I have five basses. I like them all equally, but depending on the type of music or what I'm in the mood to play I will grab a 4 string or 5 string, fretted or fretless. Recently I have been playing my Yamaha TRBX305.

I just received my new Red TRBX305 yesterday. So far it lives up to the good reviews. It sounds great with the factory strings but I will eventually put on a set of flatwounds.

I have the same black V7 bass. It's now my favorite bass. I put on a set of Ernie Ball 2812 Cobalt Flats strung through the body. I like them. I have Fender Stainless Flats on my other basses, but may also try a set of these on one of them.

I also have a black alder/rosewood V7 4 string. I originally wanted the TB finish, but decided on the black. I am glad I did. It looks great. I received mine in November. Setup was almost perfect. I haven't owned a black bass since I sold my US Peavey Forum 4 string years ago. It also had a 18...

Received my black alder V7 4 last week. So far it seems perfect. I have not made any adjustments yet. I didn't need another bass, but couldn't resist. I'm glad I got it.
