    cortisone shot: any experience?

    Has it's been pointed out, cortisone is not a painkiller, and it has several drawbacks, so it's not to be taken lightly. I also agree that it does sound like it could be a nerve-related problem, the only solution is getting checked by your MD. (p.s. i'm a med student).

    MM Stingray 5 or Carvin BB76

    I used to own a Carvin LB75 (first model with the offset dot inlays on the fretboard) and it was one of the most amazingly sounding and playing instruments I ever owned, I really kick myself for letting it go, I'd pick one over a MM any day.

    Nope, I played piano for 5 years before picking up bass.
