I just purchased a Fab 180. a previous post said it had a 3 pin cable but mine has a 5 pin and would take 2 9 volts. I had a real one years ago. I remember it sounding deeper with less punch. Only difference I see cosmetically is the non ebony fret board.

I just bought the blue 5 string that was on ebay. your reviews really influenced me on that . I'm not really a 5 player but i really wanted a blue one and didn't want to wait looking for one.

I recently purchased an overwater by tanglewood bass on amazon as it was the only way I could get one outside of the UK. It arrived set up ready to play and with no issues.

I have bought several basses on ebay from the uk and only one time i paid $100 duty fee after delivery. If you are buying from a dealer , make sure they deduct the vat tax.

Every bass that i have bought with a side jack or lipstick type jack i have had to replace th jack. Even the newer thunderbirds i have owned. the prong on the inside bends out and there is no way to get to it.

There's a good video on youtube on how the overwater basses made in China are all made to the specs of the uk basses. I've been debating it but with all this support of Chinese craftsmanship, I think i may get one.
