    The Kustom Club

Hey everyone! I’ve been a fan of the vintage Kustom gear for a while but just finally pulled the trigger on a 2x15 black tuck’n’roll bass cab. Early 70s CTS. Have jammed through it a couple of times through my Ampeg V4B and love the tone but am a little disappointed at the lack of clean...

What cab to run with V4B?

Just scored a vintage V4B and am wondering what to pair it with cab wise. I have a Heritage 8x10 that it sounds fantastic through but was hoping to create a smaller rig without giving up the mojo of the 8x10.

    Lower wattage alternative to SVT?

The guitarists alternate amps according to the venue , blues juniors on smaller gigs and fender super reverb and voxac30 on larger gigs . I guess I'm looking for the same options( without reverting back to my ss GK) I've been getting told to turn down a lot since I got the SVT but don't want an...

    Lower wattage alternative to SVT?

Was a little concerned, and have been warned, that the v4b might be underpowered for gig situations which is why I started looking at the 200watt Traynor...I play in a 5 piece (two guitar and keyboard player ) band.

    Lower wattage alternative to SVT?

On the hunt for a (preferably) vintage alternative to my early 70's SVT. Need something for smaller gigs/rehearsal but don't want to give up any tone mojo. I am considering several different alternatives and would appreciate some of you're trusted advice as I have not played through any of them...

ampeg 8x10 slant vs. straight back?

Wow! Thanks everyone...All the more excited hearing you guys prai, se the heritage! So just for added fodder, considering that my personal tastes lean towards clean headroom versus any serious break up ( not against a little tube break up) and considering the relatively low volume that my...

ampeg 8x10 slant vs. straight back?

Just a quick update if anyone's still following this...lol! After much fruitless searching for a used 8x10 that fit my personal parameters, I finally gave up and ordered a heritage 8x10. ..Should be in by Thursday or Friday. ..very excited to hear the 70's svt through, what I've read, is a...

ampeg 8x10 slant vs. straight back?

Seems as though the good deal on the early 90s cab has flaked...So far my take is flat back=good but I'm concerned about head room with their low wattage rating. So among the slant backs the concensus is avoid 2000-2007 or so...Is there a year when these cabs were not made from birch plywood...

Gallien Kreuger Official Club Pt. 11

Recently looked into removing the head and was told by GK that my model (pre 2000)is bigger than any stand alone unit made and therefore there is no chassis cover for it. Anyone got suggestions? Also can i run a 4 ohm load? Amps rated for 8ohms if memory serves...
