    Fender ultra pj buzz

I have had my My ultra pj bass for 6 years. It suddenly developed a buzz. when I touched the stacked pre amp dials (bass, treble, mids, tone) the bass would buzz. When I touch the 2 pick up poles under the D string the buzz is really loud. All the other pick up poles are quiet when touched...

Greco Gang! - The Officially Unofficial Greco Club

So, there is a collection of basses being sold locally as the result of a death. There are about 25 basses in the collection. Plenty of high end basses, Fender custom shops (P basses, jazz basses, pj basses, etc). I played all of them including a 77 Greco p bass. I had never played a Greco...

    Will swapping pick ups matter?

Ok, I thought I would gamble on a pick up swap and it worked. I installed Seymour Duncan Antiquity pick ups. This fixed the problem. The new pick ups are much warmer and have more mids. They sound more even with a thickness that the old ones didn't have. The sound before was harsh...

    Will swapping pick ups matter?

I have a 72 style jazz bass with 70's pick up placement. The bass is passive. The bass has a naturally scooped sound Is there any way to change this? Would it be a waste of time to change the pick ups or turn it into an active bass with a mid control?

So, do you all consider Bergantino amps to be boutique? I have had a ton of amps over the years. Mostly the stuff they sell at big box stores (SWR, Ampeg, Markbass). And while I have had some great gear. I've never had anything like this. I bought this because I wanted a single cab solution...

Official Markbass Club - the beat goes on, and on....

I have 2 of those and I stack them vertically. I was really just trying to use as little space as possible because I am in a 10 piece band. But now I can hear myself so much better while having a lower stage volume. Its my main gig configuration now.

    Official Orange Club II

Yes, the modern light weight amps sound fantastic now days. My Genzler amps and Mark bass tube 800 sound great. I love having the 200B. But it really isn't necessary.

    G&L Club Part 7

Update from my post about my super midrange heavy L2K. Someone suggested installing a set of Hi-beams onto the bass. Well, that did the trick. The overly heavy midrange character was completely tamed and a nice balanced tone was brought out. I played the bass at a show and it sounded...
