I have a 72 style jazz bass with 70's pick up placement. The bass is passive. The bass has a naturally scooped sound Is there any way to change this? Would it be a waste of time to change the pick ups or turn it into an active bass with a mid control?

Yes, the modern light weight amps sound fantastic now days. My Genzler amps and Mark bass tube 800 sound great. I love having the 200B. But it really isn't necessary.
