Did all that unfortunately. There is one joint I can't resolder though, right in the middle of the coils. So I'd have to take everything off for a rewind anyway to try and fix that one.

Checked that now - nothing wrong there, the problem's in the coils themselves. Ah well. Cheers guys.

Well I'd rewind myself, just wondering if there was anything less drastic. Any idea what would have caused it? Cos apparently they were both completely fine a couple of months ago.

The pickups in question are the diamond logo bass humbuckers from what I think is a Galaxie, but with a different bridge and control layout... Anyhoo, they're putting out virtually no sound when wired directly to the jack and testing with a meter at somewhere around 500kOhm DC resistance. If...

Link Removed Quick placing just to get a look at it, scratchplate/bridge/pickups are all being changed. In fact, no scratchplate, just a control plate.

Probably not going to go for a pickguard, it'd seem a shame to cover up all that wood I'd just pasted on for its look. Just a Musicman style control plate in chrome to go with the bridge. Might even convert it to a string-through config too.
