KSD-704 vs FENDER MARCUS MILLER J BASS

I own a KSD and if you find one without any quality control problems they are good. People are just blown away by the bass played with finger and slap style. I have several high end basses of other brands but this is my main axe now. Miller basses are nice but then again the KSDs sound different...

    Slap bass strings!

I ordered some Sadowsky strings and tried them for slap nothing matches them. Having the right eq and compression also helps to enhance your bass. I will be ordering more again shortly.

Sadowsky Strings - good or bad?

I have just orderd three sets of their light wound strings for my J bass because I cannot get the gauges that I want here in the UK. I use DR on my other five string bass but prefer the lighter guage for my J bass for slapping. I will write a review once they have arrived.

    Best slap bass out there...

Dr Cheese is right on the money the best slap tone is from the bass that you like. I own a few basses myself and if you have the right equalization and you are properly compressed you can get a decent sound from a bass with a single coil or hum-canceling pickups. Vail Johnson plays a bass with...

Ken Smith design (KSD) proto J bass. Opinions?

I don't think that Adam fully appreciates how I feel about the bass. I don't blame Adirondak Pro Audio at all. The bass had problems which was corrected by Sei basses in London because all of your other basses were not faulty it does not mean that the one that I got did not have one. It did and...

Ken Smith design (KSD) proto J bass. Opinions?

I had a problem with my KSDvj705 the bass was not shielded properly and I was getting radio signals and within 48 hrs of it arriving the preamp failed. The preamp was replaced with a new BT circuit, the shielding done properly, pots replaced and rewired. It now has a killer sound to die for.

    Brooklyn Gear

Well, I have had my KSDvj705 repaired at my own expense which is a shame for a new bass. my luthier at the Gallery in London did a magnificent job on the bass. The preamp was replaced at my expense,it was shielded and rewired.:bassist:

Ken Smith design (KSD) proto J bass. Opinions?

I have a KSDVJ705 which I got after waiting for more than seven mIonths. It picked up radio signals on 100khz and the preamp failed within 48 hrs. I phone Adam Levy, emailed him twice, text him and he has not replied. :crying:

    Brooklyn Gear

Brooklyn Gear is a totally hopeless company to deal with. I purchased a KSDJV705 when it arrived the preamp failed within 48 hours. Not to mention the bass took nearly eight months to arrive because there was a problem with manufacturing in Korea. I emailed, Text and Phoned Adam Levy from...
