Oh man... I have a "Moses Sparrow Upright" that I would choose as a weapon. It's not really an upright, more like a bass on a stick. It swings like a cricket bat just like a steinberger, but very cheap to replace.

Pal up with you local music store.... ask if you can tag along to NAMM at your own expense. Amazing opportunities to see everything that's up and coming. I saw a couple of comments about higher end, boutique, etc..... here's a great rule. ...... buy the best you can afford. Better made basses...

I have a pre-Fender Redhead, and I would recommend the 2X10 combo also. Nice and punchy, but will still give you all the lows you need.I play a Benavente SCD5 through mine, and it handles the B just fine.
