What the controls do is pretty simple: there's a volume knob for each pickup and a passive treble control.

Funny, in my perception a 410+115 cab combination has always been kind of the "classic setup" for a Bass fullstack... However, I'll see how it works out. I'm sure those cabs work fine as standalones in different gig situations as well.

That depends on the way you look at it. Of course you can view it als two "incomplete" necks. On the other hand, if you look at it as a whole, a fretted/fretless neck gives you a range no other bass will be able to offer, without having to deal with the price, weight and size of a doubleneck...
