great pic Brad, whats the pre in that rig? I've played a handful of gigs with the puma900 and VL110 now, including a large dinner party for about 80 people in a big warehouse. Amazingly that one little cab handled it with ease, plenty of low end and volume. I'm pretty impressed with these little cabs. I agree it also sounds great with the LMII.

I've always dug Kevin Brubakers basses, and yours is by far the sexiest one I've ever seen.. I love his idea about the modular onboard preamp units that can be easily swapped. [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

Starting to GAS on the Tec Amp gear. Anyone checked out the S15. My current rig is a TH500 + (2) SL112's. Anyone had experience with both cabs? Thanks!

I haven't played the XS115. Donovan has a youtube of him playing through the S210, S212 and S115 - that gives an idea of how they are voiced.

So I now have 30+ gigs with the Puma 500 and the last two dozen with the cabs as well. I have yet to gig the Puma 900 - it stays in the car as the backup. I am totally sold on this stuff. For small jazz hits I take a single XS112 cab. For larger gigs I use a pair of the XS112s, and for bigger outdoor stages or venues I use the M212. I'm able to leave one of the XS112s in my car all the time, so I only have to load in a second if I'm playing a larger club. For the jazz hits, I can do one-trip hand carry of everything.

The gear just works. No muss, no fuss. I generally just run the amp flat and go. fwiw I briefly tried the Blue Soul and ended up sending it back. I find the Puma to be "just right" wrt voicing for my needs. It is a bit more open than the TH500 (and more open than the RH450 or S900), has a bit more dynamic beef than the Shuttles, and more mid punch than the Glock. I just flat out like the preamp - the controls are useful and I never miss having a parametric eq. The taste and lo-mid/hi-mid combination covers what I need. Of course that will depend on your basses, technique, rooms you play, etc. But I love the amp and love the cabs.

FWIW my logic in getting the 900 was that it will really never need to be replaced or augmented with a higher power head. I'd rather spend a little extra to know that its the last/only head I'll need (in that tonal sphere anyways), rather than "still a pile" of money for a 500 watt head that may or may not run out of gas on a super loud/no pa support gig. Plus that extra headroom never hurt anyone, and I've always dug the tone of a massive power section run at reasonable volume.

The only 810 I have significant gas for.... I don't even want to ask what shipping to the US would be. Thank goodness I don't have any loud rock gigs.

Just curious since I've never known anyone who's owned one: how does it compare to an ampeg 810?

No, I'm good, my wife is actually in early labor at the moment, I'm idly surfing tb to keep myself occupied. Not the best time to be buying large unnecessary cabs from overseas ;-). GLWTS though, these almost never pop up in the US.

That's a good point. Plus, it's only like $300 more.

I'd drive two hours just to hear it!! As a former db 750 owner and a current m212 owner, I literally can't imagine how big and fat that would sound. The m212 is so huge yet taut sounding already, 3x that it inconceivable
