So, if my understanding is correct, plugging into the effects return would "mute" the signal coming from instrument input and only the signal from effects return would be treated further and sent to the speakers? I would then have to unplug "effects return" whenever I need to use to the instrument's input?

If that is the case, you've got my question answered spot-on! And a very useful argument in favor of the Bonafide. I confirm there's one effects loop per channel on Bonafide.

Depends on what type of effects loop it has (parallel or serial). With the Markbass Little Mark you can run instruments in the return and front simultaneously. You'd only have gain adjustability on the front input.

Edit: according to a review it's serial so using the return would break the path from the internal preamp.

The Markbass design is somewhat unusual. It isn't really a series or parallel issue, but rather where the effects loop is placed within the pre circuit. The Markbass effects loop does not bypass the preamp... it is pre EQ. I believe you will get the same thing in either series or parallel mode.

Puma 900 has a serial effects loop according to TecAmp's website.

I assume I'd be better served with the 2-channel version.

Hey guys. Was guna start a thread but will try my luck in here first

was hoping I could pick some of your brains

I have a Warwick XTreme 10.1 bass amp. It's 1000watts. I bought it brand new. It's been used a couple of times but no were near as much as I should have really due to me having a Tubepath as well that I use more!

I used it one night at a gig, maybe a year or so ago, went to plug it in at home and it wouldn't turn on.

Has no reason to as I treat all my gear like princess's as you would, but nothing would fire up...

I've tryed multiple power leads and no joy. And the fuse on the rear of the amp looks fine, I am on my way out now to replace it just for the sake of it... But wondered where to point my finger too next?

Obviously, in an ideal world I'd take it straight to some one with experience in this, but just wanted to see if I could get some ideas here first before throwing

So setting the internal jumper to serial only determines if the effects loop is pre or post EQ and has nothing to do with choosing between affected or affected plus unaffected output? That would mean any break in the effects loop wouldn't stop the output.
