    Add a Cab?

I went with a milk crate at the gig last night and it worked out great - no loss of low end even with the cab 30cm off the floor. Plus you can carry cables and stuff in it

    Add a Cab?

It looks like GC mis-labeled this. It's not an MBE115-II (cab), it's an MB115-II (combo) [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] Might be a good deal if you're looking for a combo though.

    Add a Cab?

Thanks to all for your excellent advice! With all the gear I haul around I'm out of space in my car for another 115  I can probably squeeze in a 112. I'll try it at this weekend's gig. I have a stand that lifts the cab up about 18 inches (no tilt). Does that seem too high? I might lose...

    Add a Cab?

My current rig is a GK MB800 into an 8Ω GK 115MBE-II cab. This rig sounds great and weighs very little. I like having the 115 cab on the floor, but of course it's shooting sound at my feet all night and I can't always hear it (I'm usually 1 to 2 meters in front of it). I'm thinking about adding...

Sonicake Octaver… decent cheap OC-2 clone???

I got one of these because I need a "-1" octave on a couple of tunes in the set and didn't want to spend a lot. I also liked the size - easy to fit on the pedalboard. As soon as it came in the mail I tried it with my MTD Kingston. The tracking was not very good - even in the upper ranges the -1...

Beginner Version to Ain't It Fun by Paramore for 4 string??

I've been playing this in a cover band using a 5-string. The lowest note you need to hit is the C# on the B string. It's a great funky bass line. On a 4-string, I suggest tuning the E string down to C# and don't change the tuning of the other strings. 95% of the notes you need to hit are C#, E...

The "Official" MTD (non-US made) Club Part 3

Hello MTD Club! I recently became the owner of an Heir 5. Love the feel of it, but the wiring has a few issues. One of the wires from the bridge pup (the red wire) is hanging loose and looks like it should be attached someplace. It's hard to tell exactly where it came loose from if indeed it...

    source audio c4

Finally got a chance to use the C4 on a live gig. It worked great and everyone loved the sound (mostly dance tunes with synth bass). In my live setup, I'm using an Android tablet with the Neuro app to make minor tweaks, and the Midi Commander Android app to switch presets and enable/bypass the...

    source audio c4

Had my C4 for a week now. Incredibly useful for covering tunes with an original synth bass part. Neuro Desktop is fine for editing, but the mobile app is kinda tedious. Suggestion for Source Audio: include native Bluetooth in the pedal! We already have too many cables ;) In any event, has...

    Maroon 5 synth copping

Sorry to resurrect such an old thread. My band just added Makes Me Wonder to the set list and I need the same thing as the OP. I think some kind of low cost (after all, it's only one song) fuzz with a blend control will let me add just enough buzz to sound convincing. I already have chorus and...

Four on the Floor: Need help with my pedal (dis)order

Adding a new pedal and I'm thinking this is a good time to change up the pedal order. The lineup will be: TC Electronics Corona chorus Wampler Tumnus overdrive (I know, not really meant for bass - it's a leftover from my g****r days) Keeley Bassist compressor MXR Bass Octave Deluxe (the new...

    Bartolini 9E active/passive and/or battery on/off?

Sorry to jump in late here. I have a old pair of Bartolini 9E's that I want to put into a Squire VM Jazz. I don't want to deal with the battery though. Is it possible to use the 9E's in passive mode with no power source?

New J Bass Pickguard - Need to trim at the control plate

Thanks @202dy for the detailed response!

New J Bass Pickguard - Need to trim at the control plate

I have a nice new pearl pickguard that fits my Squire VM Jazz except where it meets the metal control plate. The pickguard is about 1/8 inch too big there. In the past I've tried a Dremel on pickguards and mostly got a lot of melting and made a mess, so I'd like to avoid that method. I've...

NBD + NPD: Relief for GAS

I sold an acoustic g****r I wasn't using and ended up with a bit of cash in my pocket, so I succumbed to GAS and got these beauties: Compressor: Went with the Keeley Bassist. Definitely worth the $$$. Dead quiet and doesn't color the tone at all - just adds tons of mojo. Chorus: I originally...
