It sounds strange, but many of these old british amps are hard to come by. And Norway is expensive as hell. Too many rich people making the prices high! Yeah, I will have a tech look at it!

Then I guess it is the same make as the ones in Hiwatt amps then, I don't really know much about this stuff. I'm in Norway(240 volts) and the amp was last used in the US...

I just bought myself a Laney Supergroup mk1 off eBay. It has had it's tranny changed from partride to hiwatt. Will ruud influence the voltage selector in any way?

How would you guys rate these two amps against eachother? I'm looking for an amp I'm gonna use for practice and live(small venues) in a hard rock/blues band. Punch, bottom and mid is the name of the game. Reliability is also a factor... Please tell me what you think.

So the VBA is good? I had one for some years ago, but I didn't think it sounded good, therefor I traded it with somebody. Did the worst trade in my life if we count the money. But since I was young and incredibly stupid, I only ran the VBA head through a Ashdown 1x15. I really regret this now...

Ok... Thanks for all the help everybody! I think it is settled, I will NOT buy the JMP. I will go for a Carlsbro TC-100(from 1975). Does anyone have any opinions on that?

This is a great forum, thanks for the help. But if I would like to get more power. Is it possible to send the signal from the amp into a poweramp of some sorts? This might be a stupid question, and I really don't know how to formulate it, hehe.

Thanks for the quick response... I would def. want distortion, but not Lemmy-style distortion. What I'm thinking is Leo Lyons style sound(ten years after). What kind of cab are we talking. Like 8x10 or 4x12, or would a 4x10 also work. And what brands of cabs are good?
