I'm considering putting this or something similar on mine in the future.

I'm a recent converter to flats. I was a bit dubious about how expansive they seemed for strings, but I bought a set of LaBellas for my Jazz. Biggest thing I noticed when I was playing after changing is not only sound different(and better IMO), but how they feel. They are smoother than rounds...

I considered this, but it is a really nice neck(Warmoth) and I'd rather find another body then another neck if I mess up.

I'll take all the advice I can get. I'll try and get some pics up when I'm finished or made some kind of progress.

Does know how much you have to cut into an Epi neck pocket to make a fender neck fit? I have been doing research but haven't found much in the ways of actual measurements. I am worried about messing up the body or the neck, so having some knowledge from someone who has done it would be amazing.

Love my new American Special jazz bass. If you look on reverb, they still have some limited sandblasted models for the same price as the normal Special model.

I am sad to say that my little phone will never be able to capture the amazing color of this. I really like how it feels with the sandblasted finish, but I like how it sounds even better. And now what really matters, pics!

I now have a box. NBD officially starts in less then 20 minutes!!!

So I just ordered my first Jazz bass today. I'll get it maybe this week so more pics to come, but here's a spoiler:

Thunderbird classic pro. Same price as the other bird, but it is passive and has Gibson pickups.

I would just change the preamp and keep the original pickups. A preamp can change a lot.

I don't know why you might trade it either... That is a work of art.
