Hey everyone, I see there are several owners of the 2015 Limited Edition Fender basses on TB here, and I wanted to start a thread to give everyone a spot to collect pictures and generally just fawn over these lovely instruments. ;):thumbsup::thumbsup:

While I'm starting the thread and would curate the registry, I don't know if "member numbers" are required - I'm open to suggestions though!

Anyway, here's mine! I got this Sapphire Blue Jazz as an anniversary gift from my wife, which is nearly too awesome for words. The changes I've made have been mostly in interest of extending the blue / black / satin-finish theme and improving performance to my tastes. First change was replacing the original strings with a finely broken in set of D'Addario Chromes; their blue silks are a delicious coincidence. I've changed the standard vintage bridge to a Gotoh higher mass bridge because I like the feel of stability when I'm digging in. I switched the tuners to Hipshots for the more precise 27:1 tuning ratio. I've then swapped out all the remaining hardware for black versions, including a set of straplocks. The finishing piece was a matte black single ply pickguard. To me, the bass looks badass, is completely unique, and oh yeah - plays like it's reading my mind and sounds just fantastically jazzy.

Fender needs more finishes like this. I am buying a Bacchus with oil finish that is rather similar. It just looks awesome. I really like the red finishes on these Js and Ps.

Here's mine, with mods. Gotoh tuners, Hipshot "A" bridge, textured pickguard, industrial hex-head pickguard screws for even more whoaaaa character, Schaller straplocks, DR BB 45-105s strings, and... oh yeah... an April 1999-built Geddy Lee Jazz neck that saw tour use with Blue Oyster Cult (see it on the Long Day's Night concert video) and Queen. I traded necks because I love the superslim taper of the Geddy, and Danny Miranda was on the lookout for a graphite-trussrod neck for tour use with changing climates (in Canada with Meatloaf this week, for example).

The Fender is shown now in this August '16 updated photo with OBL blade pickup, which is so sweet-sounding it would make me weep if I weren't such a manly-man, and propped beside my other sandblasted beauty in the fresh air, an Esh Stinger.

I love these basses! I don't own one, but if I was ever in the position to get one, I would snap it up. If I could, I would have a Precision in blue, and a Jazz in red (I personally think the blue suits the Precision best and the red suits the Jazz best).
