    Dingwall Owners Club

I guess I’m failing to understand why these would work this way. It’s basically and on off switch with the only usable volume being 8-10

    Dingwall Owners Club

I received my SP1 two days ago and opened it last night. The bass is gorgeous, but I’m noticing something odd with the volume knob. Instead of a smooth, gradual 1–10 volume sweep like I’ve experienced with every other instrument I’ve owned, this volume knob behaves differently and think I may...

    Squier Precision 5-String Club

Adding my three beauties to this thread. 2000, 2002 and 2003. I haven’t noticed uneven output on the low B. Def need a tort guard for the gold!

NBD 2” nut Squier Precision Bass 5-string made in Indonesia

Looks awesome. I love the offset body but it’s only 1.75” at the nut. Need the 2”. lol.

NBD 2” nut Squier Precision Bass 5-string made in Indonesia

New strings (had 20 year old strings on it), new tuners, new knobs, cleaned fretboard, confirmed grounding, set relief, set action, set pickup height, intonated. Sounds really, really nice. Super happy with this one.

NBD 2” nut Squier Precision Bass 5-string made in Indonesia

Yeah, I’d love a true pbass with a 2”’nut. I will say these jazz pickups are super round and don’t have the usual jazz sound.

NBD 2” nut Squier Precision Bass 5-string made in Indonesia

I like my low B at 8/64” at the 12th fret. Once I raised the other string proportionately and set the pickup height, I’m getting super consistent output from the two I have set up so far. I’m sure the quality control was all over the place with these.

NBD 2” nut Squier Precision Bass 5-string made in Indonesia

Yours must be an early one with the input jack on the pickguard. Two of mine are on the side, one on the front. The front, like yours, is from 2000. The three I have all say PRECISION BASS Standard Series. Using my digital calipers, all of the width at the nut averages 2.046”. 2” UNICORNS UNITE!

I’m pretty sure there’s also a sunburst one but they’re fairly hard to come by. WANT.

NBD 2” nut Squier Precision Bass 5-string made in Indonesia

Picked up my 3rd 5 string Standard Series p-bass with passive, noiseless jazz pickups. I have huge hands and these being some of the only 2” nut widths in the Squier / Fender lines, these are truly an oddity and don’t get enough love. They sound amazing (when setup correctly), the necks are more...

    NBD Blasius Oldstone 5 string

This came up yesterday on Craigslist and I had to have it. Traded a Dingwall, Squier 40th anniversary pbass and an Empress compression pedal for it. How’d I do? It’s an ebony neck with birdseye maple inlays. Black limba body with ash top. Delano pickups. Plays so, so nice. Enjoy!

    String tension question (D, A, D, G)

So no issue if the G is 45 lbs and the low D is around 32 lbs? I know it’s not about matching weights but I always thought it was important for the neck to be in the ballpark for each string.
